Saving money !

     Money has been tight for everyone lately. I myself have been trying to come up with ways to save some cash. So I made a list of my monthly expenses. Then looked at each individual item, and attempted to come up with ways to save on each one. What paid off the most was shopping my car insurance. Using my net book and blackberry I got online and received several quotes which only take about 10 minutes at the most to complete. I ended up going from Geico to Progressive. This move is going to save me $800 a year, and will be providing me with almost the exact same level of coverage slightly less or better in some areas!. My question is what are some things everyone else does to save money? Does anyone use technology to save?

Death by Iphone!

    Ok well not really a death by an Iphone. Nine workers at Foxconn a major electronics manaufacture in Souther China are dead within one year. Seven of these nine deaths have been deemed suicides the other two are still under investigation by the Chinese police. Also there has been two additional reported suicide attempts. So where does the Iphone come in? Foxconn is a major contributor to Apple's products ,and the factory with all the problems exclusively manufactures I-tech. The most recent suicide was by a man who was in charge of shipping new Iphone prototypes out to Apple. One of these prototypes was discovered missing. Upon this happening the man claimed to be beaten and kept in a room for hours on end all while being questioned about the missing prototype. While the facts concerning this story appear to conflicting quite a few eyebrows are being raised. Another example of the serioussness of the security of this factory comes from a reporter taking photos of the factory while in a public street being stopped by Foxconn security then being kicked ,and threatend by the guards. The reporter then called the police who let him know that he could file a complaint ,but saying  "But this is Foxconn and they have a special status here. Please understand." Due to the recent suicides special interest groups are also looking a Foxconn saying that the company pays an unfair wage. Claiming that the workers feel as if the must work over time just to make ends meet. Most workers their live in crowded dorms provided by the company. Workers earn on average just under 300.00 dollars a month. They work 12 hour days with a two hour lunch. Also working Large amounts of overtime every week. Just something to think about before you buy that shiny new Iphone ,Ipad ,Ipod etc..... Apple says that they will be taking a closer look at their sweat shops oops! I mean manufactures.

Tether For your BlackBerry Smart Phone and Android phone coming soon!

     Tether Formally know as TetherBerry is a great app for your Blackberry. Tether allows you to use your Blackberry as a internet connection anywhere you have cell service. Because of my Job I got Tether as my primary internet connection for when I am away from home which is quite often. Just go to www.Tether.com and follow the download instructions you can also try out a free trial. A lot of people were I work bought Sprint 3G cards for their laptops. So they end up paying essentially two phone bills. I have a BlackBerry Curve 8330 with Boost Mobile. I installed Tether onto my phone and computer and voila I have a 3G internet connection to my laptop top and full BlackBerry phone service all of which is unlimited for 60.00 bucks plus Tax of around 4 dollars. It is a great solution for me that is also cheap. The Tether App cost 50.00 dollars ,but I have heard that it sometimes it goes on sale for half off. Just thought I would share!

Jailbreak Your Ipad!

Warning: Jailbreaking your Ipad will result in VOIDING your warranty. Also possibly making your Ipad into a large coaster, or maybe an interesting conversation starter. Other side effects may include extreme fun, envious friends, great new apps, and the ability to multitask!     

     

     Here is the scoop jailbreak your Iphone why not your Ipad.  Apple has god like control when it comes down to what types of apps are available on your Ipad. That's right "your Ipad ", means you own it! So why can't you choose what goes is on it?  Apple won't even let a shot of a side boob in. So this is why you would want to jailbreak your Ipad so lets go on to the How to section.

1. First back it up- Sync your ipad with Itunes
2. Next go to www.SpiritJB.com and Download for either PC Mac, or Linux
3. Next make sure your Ipad is connected to your Machine and run the new spirit program and click JailBreak
4. Now your ipad should reboot
5. Once rebooted your Ipad will now have a new app on it called Cydia
6. Click Cydia and now hundreds of new apps are their waiting for you!

Windows 7!

     For the first time in a long time I am truly excited about Windows. For a while I was bound and determined to drop Windoze for Ubuntu "a Linux distro". Windows 7 has truly restored a lot of my faith in Microsoft. Though the GUI resembles Vista a a bit the difference stops their. I installed windows 7 to my Acer Aspire 1 " Intel Atom N270 1Gb Ram 250Gb hdd" via Thumb drive several weeks ago replacing Windows Xp.  The thumb drive installation was quick and painless especially considering my netbook lacks an optical drive. Don't get me wrong XP is tried ,and true ,but the new 7 for me is where it's at! I plan on Writing a full review soon so keep checking back.
